Gears of War is a game that help most 360 owners out between Halo 2 and Halo 3; however now it seems at the point that it almost dethrowned the King. The action and visuals on this game were outstanding; however, if it wasn't for the terrible storytelling and lame lines throughout the game this would've been much better than Halo 3. The online gameplay takes a life of it's own and makes the campaign mode absolite. The game is great and a must own.

ths was a great game.i loved the shooting and the chainsaw.i would definentaly recomend this game to any gamer.i just cannot wait for the next one.the only problem about it was that i found it to be a little short but still it was excellent.i give it a 4.5 out of 5.0

am late to the party once again, reason being b/c when games get a lot of haype I try not to jump on the wagon, b/c more times then not the Hype is all it is, just Hype. The game is by no means revolutionary, its a run and gun in every since of the word and some times just down right repetitive. Kinda gave me a NEW GEN GI JOES feeling playing the beefed up and scarred commandos. But although it has its down falls, all and all this game is FUN to play thru.... The weapons are rather sweet, ecspesially the Bow and sniper rifle, when used right they are always fun to shoot. Not to mention the chainsaw on your assault rifle, cutting folks up never gets old. The graphics are top notch although at times the grayish blurred shadowed corridors dont stand out at you it still gives this game the RIGHT feel, so to speak. The cover mechanics are what really take this game to the next level, being able to slide into cover then barrel roll to another spot and take cover makes gunplay even more enjoyable. Running looks good but really not effective where as you can easily get lost in a sea of enimies with the screen flying by you thus leading to your death. This game is Hard! I cannot remember the last time i played a shooter that called for as many restarts as I had in this one. So be prepared for DEATH...But the loads are rather quick and its always fun to get right back in action... Online is OKAY. Have not played coop just deathmatches, and it can feel a bit unbalanced but there is plenty of achievements to be had online so thatss an appeal in itself...Something COD does not offer... All in all if you like shooters then pick ths one up, its worth the money! And remember the Bow is your friend!!!! The vehicle scene and repitition keeps this game from being great but still its good.

I'm just kidding guys. This game is really good and is a must have for 360 owners. Even though its third person it got me ready for Mass Effect when that came. With a cliffhangerish ending you'll need to play Gears of War 2 to learn what happens. If you are not sure if you'd like this game then rent it definitely. With the gruesome deaths and wonderful screams it will keep any "light" horror person happy.

this game is very good in story in combat and in action. the only problem i have is that this game (in my opinion) really needs more weapons i mean sure u got your shotty's and ur boomer's but there should be more sort of uzi like weapons or different grenades and also some double wielding great game fun online all is good
