French dance squad Justice made a name for themselves with their various remixes, but they blew minds with their debut "Cross" (the album title is actually just a giant cross, but it's become widely known as "Cross). Combining influences from dance to rock, Justice has perfectly executed one of the best dance mixes in recent years. If the video for "D.A.N.C.E." is any indication of what these two Parisian dudes are all about, we should have many more great albums to look forward to from the duo.

Schizophrenic indie band Menomena have crafted a masterpiece with their third full length, "Friend Or Foe". Lush instrumentation mixed with plenty of bleeps and bloops from the band's frequently used electronic library create one of the most uplifting musical experiences of the year. The most amazing thing about Menomena is the fact that three dudes pull off every subtle piece of their dense compositions live, so be sure to pick up this record, and catch them live, or you're only getting half of the fun of Menomena.

Straight out of Oakland, High On Fire take the best aspects of classic metal and meld it with the modern for a blistering mix of sonic violence. Matt Pike's vocals on "Death Is This Communion" show that the singer has devolved into a snarling beast, which perfectly compliments the three-piece's heavy metal attack. Stand out tracks include "Fury Whip", "Rumors Of War" and "Waste Of Tiamat". Extra points are awarded for showing your Sabbath-loving older brother this album and blowing his mind.
