Feature: E3 Ultimate Preview Guide!

Want to know about the games E3 without watching hours of video or reading pages of text? We break down almost every game, big and small, into three sentences!

Man, sometimes E3 can be a bit too much. Hundreds of games, thousands of pages of coverage. That's why we're making things nice and simple for you guys. We're distilling almost every game at E3 into 3 sentences each. Of course, big games deserve more coverage, which we will point you towards here, too. So read on for E3's biggest, boiled down to the nitty gritty!

Table of Contents:

Page 2: Nintendo & EA's Press Conference Titles

God of War 3- PS3

Kratos is back in the highly anticipated God of War III. A PS3 exclusive, God of War III looks to cover the Greek War of the Titans. We're insanely excited about the prospect of a next-gen God of War, but seeing how the trailer was completely pre-rendered, we need some in-game proof before we get too excited.

MAG- PS3

MAG is the working title for Zipper's latest epic, Massive Action Game. Based on the success of the SOCOM series, MAG promises to immerse players with massive online battles featuring up to a whopping 256 players, and an RPG element incorporated into the game's single player mode allowing you to upgrade your character via an advancement tree. We love the immersive elements of MAG, from the beautiful environments to the in-depth customization, but 256 players in an online match sounds a bit too good to be true, not to mention a bit too similar to Resistance 2's online mutliplayer.

Killzone 2- PS3

A compelling single-player campaign aside, Killzone 2 multiplayer was the focus at this year's E3. You will progress as a persistant character, a la Call of Duty 4, with features like 12 military ranks, each rank unlocks new abilities and "perks", 46 ribbons and medals, and robust player statistics. Six "Badges" act as character classes, including Saboteur, Medic and Engineer; each badge has two character-specific abilities (for example, the Medic has Revive and the ability to toss out med kits).

Resistance: Retribution- PSP

Resistance makes its debut on the PSP handheld with Resistance Retribution. Retribution is the first third person game in the franchise, and looks to maintain all of the original aspects of the original Resistance titles. We like how the game's staying true to its roots, but we're not too sure about the flagship FPS' transistion from first to third person.

Resistance 2- PS3

The battle's back on in Resistance 2, and it's looking bigger and badder than ever. R2 features epic boss battles and sprawling environments -- not to mention both 6 player co-op and a massive 60 person multiplayer mode. We love the fact that Resistance is exploring new boundaries with giant beasts like the Leviathan, but by promising that it "offers more than any other shooter in 2008" is a tough claim, and R2 will really have to deliver to back it up.

LittleBigPlanet- PS3

The highly anticipated LittleBigPlanet is a one-of-a-kind gaming experience, hoping to draw players in with a focus on user generated content. LBP was shown with some deep customization elements in both character elements as well as level design, and promises to offer a whole new social networking experience. We love how innovative and accessible this title is turning out to be, but with a ship date of October 2008, we just want the game to ship already!

Home- PS3

We all know Home -- but strangely enough, even with all of its hype, none of us have ever been there. The build of Home shown at Sony's press conference showed upgraded visuals, specifically brand new water effects, and beautiful sunsets. We like the idea of social networking that Home's going for, but we can't help but worry that there's not enough content to actually call it a "game".

DC Universe- PC, PS3

Jim Lee introduces DC comics introduction to online gaming with DC Universe. The game will allow you to create your own super hero or super villain, and fight alongside DC's most popular comic book characters. We love the large range of characters that have been promised (from Green Lantern to the Joker), but hopefully DC Universe won't just turn out as a City of Heroes clone.

inFAMOUS- PS3

InFamous is Sony's latest open-world action adventure. The trailer shown focused on a sole hero with Star Wars "Force"-esque powers leaping from rooftop to rooftop in a sandbox environment. While the game looks beautiful, we're a bit weary of yet *another* action-oriented open-world game coming out, with Crackdown in the past and Prototype on the horizon.
